St Andrew's named one of Australia's Most Innovative Schools
10 December 2025

St Andrew’s Anglican College has been named one of Australia’s most innovative schools for 2025, securing a place on The Educator’s prestigious 5-Star Innovative Schools list.
The Peregian Springs College is one of only 42 schools nationwide to receive this honour, recognising its leadership in forward-thinking approaches to teaching, wellbeing and learning. The announcement follows the College’s recent recognition as a 5-Star Best School by The Educator.
This year’s accolade particularly celebrates the College’s Diamond Strong Pastoral Care Program , a Primary School initiative that has rapidly become central to the St Andrew’s experience. Designed to ensure the College values—curiosity, courage, engagement, commitment, respect and compassion—are actively lived, the program provides structured time for students to reflect, connect and grow.
Head of Primary, Mr Scott Warfield , said the award captures the essence of the College.
“The Diamond Strong program has transformed the way our students experience school life,” Mr Warfield said.
“It’s incredible to see students confidently applying our College Values in their everyday interactions.”
Since its launch in 2024, the program has delivered significant outcomes across the Primary School: student confidence and connection have risen, leadership applications have reached record highs, and both staff and parents report a stronger sense of consistency and care across classrooms.
College Principal, Ms Karen Gorrie , said the honour reflects the creativity and commitment of staff across the College.
“Innovation at St Andrew’s is about more than technology- it’s about people,” Ms Gorrie said.
“The program is a wonderful example of what happens when teachers and staff make deliberate space for values and wellbeing alongside academic growth.”
Each year, The Educator’s 5-Star Innovative Schools awards recognise schools shaping the future of learning through bold ideas and meaningful student experiences. For St Andrew’s, this acknowledgment affirms the College’s ongoing commitment to improvement, innovation and care—and inspires continued leadership in creating environments where young people can truly thrive.
