Students applying for the Excellence in Sport Scholarship should be exhibiting exceptional sporting abilities in one or more sports and display evidence of participation at a high level (regional, state or national level), a demonstrated passion for their sport as well as a commitment to their school studies. Preference is given to sports that are played at St Andrew’s.
Excellence in Sport recipients are awarded up to 50% remission of tuition fees for the duration of their Secondary education, provided they continue to meet required standards in both their sporting excellence and academic program.
Successful applicants are well supported to ensure they are able to balance the demands of competing and training at a high level, while maintaining the required academic expectations. These standards will be monitored and discussed at an annual review and the continuing Scholarship will be at the discretion of the Principal.
Applications for the Excellence in Sport Scholarship are open to external and current St Andrew’s students entering Year 7 to Year 12. Students wishing to apply should register and pay the $50 application fee online and upload the following documentation to support their application, including:
- School reports for Semester 2 and Semester 1
- Latest NAPLAN results
- Supporting documentation showing broad involvement in school life
- Supporting documentation of achievements in the area of Sport, Academic or co-curricular activities
- Two references from a member of an organisation (not your child’s teacher/s) or association that the student is currently affiliated with including their contact details.
