Welcome to St Andrew's Anglican College. As Principal, I welcome you to the College, an award winning Independent private school achieving excellence on the Sunshine Coast. With our current enrolment of 1260 students, the College caters for students from Prep through to Year 12. Little Saints is our Early Learning Centre and Day Care catering for children from 6 weeks through till school age.
Our Mission statement clearly articulates our unique focus. Based on our Christian Foundation, we leverage the College’s positive energy and supportive community to enable our students to walk confidently into their futures. In order to achieve this, the College has been fortunate to attract a high calibre of staff who seek each day to provide unique, engaging and broad educational opportunities for the children in their care.
Being the Principal of St Andrew’s Anglican College is an amazing and rewarding job: because of our College Community! It’s a delight to welcome our students each morning, to interact with staff as we share ideas about the future of our College and collaborate with parents to ensure a consistent approach to all we undertake. As Principal, I have the exciting challenge to ensure we stay focussed on our Value statements, the how part of what we do:
develop the individual
embed Christ-like action
promote personal best
Service to others
At St Andrew's, the best aspects of a traditional Anglican School education are combined with a vision for what students need today and for their exciting futures. All these considerations produce a learning environment which is distinctively St Andrew's, but with the standards of care, Christian values, academic rigour, focus on independent learning and positive environment exemplified by other leading independent schools across Australia.
We talk a lot about ‘the St Andrew’s Way’ - our approach to education is based on high expectations of our staff and students, balanced with a firm commitment to the importance of the relationships that exist between staff, student and parents. As Principal it is my role to model this! I work with a committed staff that engenders not just a love for learning but a love for belonging, of being part of a community. The flow-on effect of this is a student body that openly emanates a willingness to engage in a wide range of opportunities.
Our wish for our departing Collegians is that they will have a passion for learning and will value the virtues of wisdom and integrity. They will be individuals who endeavour to positively transform the communities in which they live and work. In the great and the small things they do, they will enliven and enrich our world.
I encourage families who are looking to enrol to contact the College and arrange a time to meet us and have a tour of one of Queensland’s great schools.
