Week 1, Term 1, 2013
Blake Heiniger - Golf and Cricket

Blake Heiniger had a great 2012. He won Gold at The Australian U12 Schoolboy Cricket Championships at the Barossa Valley in December '12. Qld had not taken out this award for 9 years. "It was such a great experience and we all made some great friendships". At State level Blake was chosen as an all rounder, but after a weeks training camp in Brisbane he was made opening batsman. He top scored for Queensland against NT and received an overall best fielder award. Within a matter of weeks Blake had won silver and gold medals for Australian U12 Schoolboy Golf and U12 Schoolboy Cricket respectively. Congratulations Blake!

Week 2, Term 1, 2013
Burkett House - Secondary Swimming Champions

Congratulations to Burkett House who are Secondary School Swimming Champions for 2013. Their participation rate was immense as nearly the entire House participated in nearly every event. It was a clise finish with Hocknull House looking like they could potentailly get over the line. But the determination of the Burkett Bulls prevailed

Week 3, Term 1 2013
Emily Lethbridge - Aquathon

St Andrew's has its first Queensland Champion for 2013. Emily Lethbridge pictured here on her way to winning the Queensland Schools Aquathon Championship. An amazing performance to win Gold in tough windy and wet conditions in Redcliffe! Congratulations Emily!

Week 4, Term 1 2013
Secondary College Swim team

The Secondary School swim team were superb today against 11 other Independent Schools. The team finished runners up again and just narrowly missed out on winning. For the first time a large school did win the percentage trophy and that was St Andrew's for best performing school based on enrolment numbers. Congratulations to 5 St Andrew's students - Zoe Dick, Max Osborn, Remy Fairweather, Charlie Thompson and Layton LePetit who were announced as Independent Schools Age Champions. We also won 4 age groups 13 years boys, 14 years Girls, 15 years Boys,16 years Girls and placed either 2nd or 3rd in every other age group.
A large number of our fantastic students will now attend the Regional Carnival in Caboolture next week.

Week 5, Term 1 2013
Trevor Tunnington
- Stand Up paddling
A very special congratulations to Yr 10 student Trevor Tunnington who competed at the World Stand Up Paddleboard Championship in Peru. He finished an incredible 8th in the 22km distance event. He was selected to represent New Zealand and was the youngest competitor in the distance event at just 15 years of age. On behalf of everyone at St Andrew's Anglican College - well done Trevor on your fantastic result.

Week 6, Term 1 2013
Brodie Modini - Athletics

Brodie is the Australian 1500m Athletics Champion after competing at the National Athletics Championships in Perth for Queensland. This again tops off a great year of running for Brodie who continues to perform brilliantly on a national stage. This year he has already competed at the State Triathlon Championships and now turns his attention to Cross Country season. Best wishes for a great Term 2.

Week 7, Term 1  2013
Emily Nicholas - Athletics
, Touch and Netball
Emily continues to do amazing things and she recently picked up a 4th in the 13 years Girls Javelin at the National Athletics Championships in Perth. She has also just been selected in the Sunshine Coast 15 years Girsl Touch team. She is also playing brilliantly for the 9/10 Girls 'A' Netball team. Congratulations Emily.

Week 8, Term 1 - 2013
Jordan Csabi - Athletics

Jordan has had a super impressive 6 months. He has also done a fair bit of travelling to compete in some special events. He received his silver Queensland 100m medal from Olympic Gold medallist Sally Pearson (pictured). He finsihed a superb 6th in the 100m Final in Tasmania in December. He also got a silver in the 4 x 100 relay and a bronze in the Swedish relay. He then unfortunatley picked up an injury but still managed to make the 100m National final in Perth in March and just recently made the semi finals of the prestigious Stawell Gift. His overall ranking in sprinting has shot up dramatically. Congratulations Jordan on your super achievements.

Week 9, Term 1 - 2013
Max Osborn - Swimming

Max typifies dedication, commitment and 'never give up attitude' and this is certainly getting him places. He is Queensland Club 13 years 400m and 800m Champion. He then backed this up with a gold in the 400m Freetyle at Qld Schools Champs in March and is setting new Personal Best's seemingly every week at the moment. His goal is the 1500m and the next few years will see him working towards this. Congratulations Max.
