Water Polo in 2013
The 2013 Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Water Polo Competition is starting in Term 3. In 2012 we had an incredible 10 teams competing and this year St Andrew’s is hoping to enter as many teams as possible into the competition.

The competition is divided into the following divisions:

Junior Teams

Intermediate Teams

Senior Teams

Year 6/7/8 Girls

Year 6/7/8 Boys

Year 9/10 Girls

Year 9/10 Boys

Year 11/12 Girls

Year 11/12 Boys

The competition will take place each Monday evening and will commence in mid-late August. Games will be played at both the Noosa Aquatic Centre and Kawana Pool.  Game times will vary from 4:30pm – 7pm and players will be required to make their own transport arrangements to and from the games.

Training:

Training sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5pm - 6:15pm at Noosa Aquatic Centre starting mid May 2013. All players are expected to attend. There will also be additional training during student’s allocated Sport time – Monday periods 5 and 6 for Seniors and Friday periods 5 and 6 for grades 7-8 and Tuesday afternoon for Yrs 9 and 10. It is for this reason that I ask interested players to select Water Polo as their Sport Electives for Term 3.

All players are expected to wear St Andrew’s swimming togs and sports uniforms to all training sessions and games.

Finals night 2012
it was superb night of Water Polo. 5 St Andrew's teams in 'A' Grade finals. Four teams are now Sunshine Coast Champions!

The St Andrew's spirit was on display and there were some incredible moments. Sincere thanks to the many supporterswho attended and supported the St Andrew's teams.
Junior Boys and Intermediate Boys beat Matthew Flinders, both in thrilling penalty shootouts after extra time. The Junior Girls beat Matthew Flinders convincingly 9-2.
Our Open Girls have lost for the last 4 years against Sunshine Beach in Finals and this year they finally beat them 8-5. The Open Boys went down 9-6 to Siena.

Mr Cam Piper was in his playground! and deservedly should take plenty of praise for his incredible enthusiasm, knowledge and passion - St Andrew's water Polo is what it is because of his energy! It has been a brilliant season.
Thank you to all players, coaches, supporters and followers of St Andrew's Water Polo

Tiana selected for Australia again

Tiana Sogaard Andersen is certainly making her mark in Water Polo. She has just been selected again for Australia U18's after captaining Queensland girls to a silver medal at the National Championships in Canberra last week. She again starred at the tournament. She will wear the green and gold in New Zealand and also to Hungary later in the year..

Well done also to Mr Cameron Piper who superbly coached the Queensland U18 boys to a silver medal at the Championships...

QLD State Championships 2012
Congratulations to Hugo Morris, Tiana Andersen, Emily McIntyre and Ines Kharouni who represented the Sunshine Coast at the recent QLD Secondary School State Championships in Toowoomba. Both teams played extremely well throughout the tournament, but it was the strong girls team that proved too tough for the other regions winning their Grand Final concvincingle over Metropolitan East. Well done to all players and in particualar Tiana Andersen who was named MVP and selected in the QLD team to compete at the National Championships in Canberra during May.

Australian Water Polo

Congratulations to Tiana Sogaard Andersen who represented Australia in Water Polo during the holidays. She played for the Australian U17 Schoolgirls Team in December in the annual 3 test series against New Zealand. This year the games were held in Sydney.

We wish Tiana all the best when she plays for Qld in the U20 National Championships 17-22 January in Adelaide.. This is a great achievement for Tiana as she has another 3 years in U20s. Good luck T!!
