Trips & Tours

Excursions and extended stay opportunities are an important feature of life and learning at St Andrew's Anglican College. The College is very aware of the enriching experiences global travel can provide. This means we are focused on offering our students the best experiences possible!. The learning opportunities, enjoyment safety and success of students is our ultimate goal. There are a range of diverse opportunities for both for our Primary students and also our Secondary students.

Primary China visit each Year. Cost approx $2500

St Andrew’s Anglican College has established an exciting friendship school program with Beijing Primary School. 2009 was the inaugural year for this program which provides an exciting and enriching experience for these Year Six ambassadors.

The primary purpose of this program is to provide our Year Six students with an opportunity to extend their Chinese learning within a real-life context and to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the Chinese culture. During the visit the students are involved in an engaging learning program at Beijing Primary School, participating in classroom learning, cultural activities, music and sport. A number of excursions to various sights around Beijing, including the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, the Olympic stadium and the Beijing Zoo are all highlights for the students.

The students and teachers stay in the international student dormitory facilities during the week and with a home stay family on the weekends.  Each home stay family selected by Beijing Primary School sends their child to visit St Andrew’s Anglican College later each year. This enables Australian families to return the hospitality and further develop the relationship with their Chinese friends.

Urban Bound Program - depart each year for Year 9 students cost included in Tuition fees
The Urban Bound Program has been designed to broaden the educational and academic experience of Year 9 students. The program has been devised taking into consideration the following principles: Academic, Service/Community, City Adventure, Independence, Environment and Enjoyment. The experience is held off campus in an urban environment that is unfamiliar to the students. Research shows that Year 9 can be a time of adolescent growth where individuals have specific social and learning needs. It is often a period of time where students can become somewhat disengaged with a formalised curriculum and the structure required at school. This program attempts to address these needs by promoting self–directed and collaborative learning, communication, independence and responsibility. This also allows students to investigate how they fit into the world and helps them identify future interests that they may pursue. More information here

New York Business Trip - depart 2012, 2014, 2016 cost approx $5500

The content covered during Business Studies at school requires students to investigate and analyse business environments and opportunities on a variety of levels. During our visit to New York students are encouraged to consider the marketplaces and business strategies of many destinations.  Particularly, looking at how International Business operates; the challenges of a global approach to business and how enterprise operates not just within our own cities or countries but also in the Worldwide Marketplace.  New York, which is known as the business and financial capital of the United States, perhaps even the world, provides a diverse range of developed and renowned business enterprises for students to investigate and experience.
