The Sunshine Coast Honours Wind Ensemble Program (SCHWEP)
2013 dates - 17 - 18 MAY, 2013 at Stella Maris Catholic Primary School
The Sunshine Coast Honours Wind Ensemble Program aims at providing accomplished Primary and Secondary students the opportunity to be further developed, extended and motivated through an intensive workshop and performance program.
Now in its seventh year, the SCHWEP continues to enjoy much success due to the support of the 23 local schools and colleges that participate, as well as the fine work of our conductors – Dr Robert Busan from San Francisco State University; Mr Phil Davis, Head of Performance Music, at Redlands College and at AMEB; Dr Peter Morris, Director of Music at Villanova College, Coorparoo; Mr Ralph Hultgren, Head of Pre-Tertiary Studies Griffith University Young Conservatorium; Ms Alisa Jones, Instrumental Coordinator at Kelvin Grove State College; and, Mr David Law, Conductor of the Queensland Youth Orchestra Wind Ensemble.
Continuing this tradition of eminent conductors, this year we are proud to welcome Ms Jodie Lutherborrow, Lecturer in Music/Music Education at the Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University.
In the spirit of community music-making, staff and student networking and collegiality, the Sunshine Coast Honours Wind Ensemble Program will be held at Stella Maris Catholic Primary School for Primary and Secondary students.
Nominations are sought from all State and Independent schools on the Sunshine Coast for students studying the following instruments:

- Trumpet
- Trombone
