Last updated - 11 March 2013

Scholarship Applications for 2014 Scholarships are now closed.  We will be in contact shortly with all applicants.  Please contact Mrs Sue Sagar on 5471 5555 if you would like more information.

St Andrew's offers Scholarships to students who demonstrate excellence in Academia, Music and General Excellence (Sport and The Arts) and The Principal's Scholarship.

Scholarship Rationale
As an Anglican College, we are committed to ensuring that our College represents a cross-section of society and is not solely a place for those with the means to afford the College fees. The College is committed to making a quality education available to everyone.
Scholarships are awarded with the intention of assisting students to maximize their potential. Scholarships are there to assist families with additional expenses incurred in the pursuit of excellence in their child's chosen field. We believe that by offering Scholarships, the College will be honouring and encouraging student excellence in specific fields. Existing families who face difficult times are appropriately supported both pastorally and financially by the College. The College is also prepared to support practising Anglicans who might otherwise be not able to afford an Anglican Education. The College is also prepared to support the education of Indigenous Australians who are seeking to be part of an Independent Educational experience.
In all circumstances, recipients of both Scholarships and Bursaries are expected to support the College ethos at all times. This forms part of the agreement signed between the parents and the College.
St Andrew's Anglican College offers Scholarships to all students, currently enrolled at the College and as well as those wishing to enter the College.
The process is undertaken in March each year.  For more information regarding Scholarships or Enrolment at St Andrew's, please contact Mrs Sue Sagar on 5471 5555.

Academic to students in Year 7 , 10, 11 or 12

THE SENIOR YEARS OPPORTUNITY BURSARY

Applications for the Senior Years Bursary are now closed for 2013.  Please check this webpage later in 2013 for application information regarding the Bursary for 2014.

The Senior Years Opportunity Bursary was established in 2011 to support and encourage two students who may not otherwise be able to attend St Andrew’s.

A local Sunshine Coast businessman, who wishes to remain anonymous, has very generously supported this Bursary.  His desire is for the College to offer two 50% tuition bursaries, to students who would not otherwise be able to afford a St Andrew’s education, for the remainder of their Secondary years.  The Bursaries will cover 50% of tuition, all levies charged and co-curricular costs incurred.  (Where an individual co-curricular cost is in excess of $500 the student must write a letter to the Principal, asking to participate.)

The recipient of The Senior Years Opportunity Bursary will be a male or female student entering Year 10 in 2013, who has displayed excellent aptitude and attitude towards his or her Studies. This student will not be a current student at St Andrew’s.  The student will agree to continue to work to the best of their ability, and be a fine citizen of the St Andrew’s community.

The parents/carers will be contributing and supportive members of the College Community and will complete financial statements prior to the Bursary being awarded. The parents/carers will pay 50% of the tuition fees and all uniform costs.

The College will support the Senior Years Opportunity Bursary Recipients in both an academic and pastoral way to ensure that the students achieve to the best of their ability. The College will waive the Registration Fee, the Enrolment Fee and the yearly Family Building Fund Levy.  The College will also report the student’s progress annually to the donor.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SENIOR YEARS OPPORTUNITY BURSARY

The Senior Years Opportunity Bursary is available to a student (male or female who is not a current student at St Andrew’s) entering Year 10 in 2013.  The Bursary will be offered to a student who is a general all round achiever, who will make an excellent citizen in the

St Andrew’s community.

Closing date:  4pm Friday 28 September 2012

To apply for the Senior Years Opportunity Bursary, please supply:

  1. A completed application form.  This form is available for download here.
  2. A covering letter, written by the student stating a bit about themselves, hobbies, interests etc, and why they would like to become a St Andrew’s student.
