WELL DONE RAFTER HOUSE!
|
WELCOME TO RAFTER HOUSE! |
| I would like to welcome you as Head of Rafter House, to the Rafter community! Our House is named after the great Tennis player, Patrick Rafter and I like to think that we are the House with the most heart. Being part of a House, gives students a micro community that they belong to within the College. Rafter House will be lead this year by our House Prefects, Georgia Harries and Austin Wenke. Their role is to encourage and be a role model for all students in Rafter House through their exceptional leadership. We are very lucky to have them on board! Rafter House is divided into 8 Home Groups, made up of one teacher and students from Rafter House from grade 7 through to 12. Having a mixture of age groups in each, allows students to mix across year levels and encourages leader and mentorship. Also, as the name suggests, we try and use the House system as a means to build a sense of ‘home’ away from home. Students meet in their Home Groups each morning for Role Call and Student Notices, however, this time is also used to check-in with students and address any pastoral needs they may have. In addition to this, students have one period a week, which is dedicated to House time. During this time students engage in activities such as House Meetings, Games and Activities, Team Building workshops, School event preparation (such as sports carnivals) and much more. Diaries are checked for a parent signature every Thursday, to ensure students are maintaining a good level of organisation around their studies and extracurricular commitments. If you have any Pastoral concerns regarding your child, please feel free to contact either their Home Group teacher or myself via the school diary, phone call or email. Term Two culminates with one of my favourite days of the year, Foundation Day, get ready for the Diamond Dash and all the Rafter House Fun to be had.
Don't forget that formal uniform must be worn in Terms Two and Three and remember to keep up to date with all things Rafter through the website and our Rafter Facebook page.
I am truly looking forward to another fantastic year leading the mighty Orange Rafter House! Ms Mel Rothman Head of Rafter House If you need to contact me please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
