LATEST NEWS - 29 April 2013

SCNA Carnival – 28 April 2013

We recently selected a Year 5 team and a Year 6 team, based on their availability and performance at both training and games in Term 1, to participate in the Sunshine Coast Netball Association Carnival on Sunday 28 April 2013.   The weather was superb, warm but better than rain and wind!!!  The enthusiasm of the players, coaches and families was fantastic and the support on the sidelines was very encouraging for all the girls.  It really was a great introduction for these girls to play in a competitive and consistent carnival for the very first time.

The results were very promising and encouraging considering both the Primary teams were selected, hence a lot of the players had not played in the same team before and positional combinations were not formed prior to the day.   I would like to thank Mrs Sue Bambling and Mrs Conny Bibby for their amazing support of SAAC netball and their expert guidance and enthusiasm for their teams.  It was great to see them in action!

  • An outstanding day for the Year 5 team as they were Runner Up in their division, superb effort!
  • The Year 6s improved as the day went on and had 1 draw and 3 wins to finish on a high which was a fantastic effort!

The teams were:

Year 5: Pictured right, Summer Gauld; Georgia Young; Kate McMahon; Aurelia Donger; Abbey Robson; Tiggy Blatchford; Imogen McLeod; Felicity St Baker; Jolie Whan.  Coach: Mrs Sue Bambling

Year 6: Moira Cairns; Chloe Kruger; Jessica Collins; Taeha Herbert; Ruby Blake; Annabelle Moses; Lili Northcott; Lilly Tindal; Angel Taylor.  Coach: Mrs Conny Bibby

A special thank you for Marcie McLeod and Lucy Robson who were on hand to assist with some medical advice and assessment, your support is very much appreciated.

Overall, it was a positive step forward for St Andrew’s Primary Netball and it was wonderful to see the girls in action and they represented themselves, their family and our school extremely well… and we have some very talented netballers coming through the ranks – woo hoo!  We look forward to more opportunities like this for the Primary netball girls to come in the years ahead!

Latest News - 18 March 2013

Congratulations

We have more fantastic baby news and hopefully a budding netballer of the future… congratulations for Mrs Liz Hammacott and her husband Chris on the safe arrival of baby Jade.  Jade’s arrival was a little earlier than expected however both mother and daughter are doing very well.  We wish them all the best as they settle into their new family life.  We hope to see them, as well as Ms Rock and Jack, around school and maybe the netball courts in the near future.

Latest News - 11 March 2013

Thank You – attending the AGM

A big thank you to the parents and staff that have volunteered to attend the Coolum Netball AGM on Wednesday night.  Due to your attendance, your team will collect 4 Points on the ladder and this can play an important part in the end of season standings.

Congratulations

A huge congratulations for Ms Jess Rock and her husband Andy on the safe arrival of baby Jack.  Jack’s arrival was a little earlier than expected however both mother and son are doing very well.  We wish them all the best as they settle into their new family life.  We hope to see them around school and maybe the netball courts in the near future.
