The Primary Cross Country team have won the Sunshine Coast Independent Schools Cross Country for the 5th year in a row with a superb display by all team members. St Andrew's has now won this event 8 times in the last 11 years and it is credit to the dedication of the runners and their commitment to training. A huge thanks must go to the families for their great support of the Running culture at St. Andrew's. Congratulations to Champions Amber Kimmel (11 yrs Girls), Emily Lethbridge (12 yrs Girls) and Zaelia Dunsdon ( 9 yrs Girls)

Congratulations to 14 students who will now repsresent the District at the Regional Carnival. They are Amber Kimmel, Meg Webber, Emily Lethbridge, Emma Wilkinson, Nelly St Baker, Nathan Thompson, Nick Robinson, Jack Barnett, Brad Thompson, Noah Martin, Gus Powell, Oscar Smith, Aurelia Donger, Felicity St Baker

Congratulations also to our Secondary team who also performed superbly. Age Champions were Angus Luhrs (13 yrs Boys), Cecilia Luhrs (Open Girls) and Brodie Modini (15 years Boys). A standout performance was also Brad Foulds who finished runner up in the 14 years boys age group. Well done also to the following students who also finished runners up, CJ Regan, Emma Wilkinson, Harry Mohr. The whole Secondary team now heads to the Regional Carnival on the 4th June.

Secondary Cross Country 2013 - Rafter win the double
A massive thank you for a superb afternoon in which our students starred. I was so impressed with our students who approached the event with a great attitude. The conditions were incredibly tough and it was great to see our students give everything for their house.  Congratulations to all houses who obviously put a lot of effort into the event. Congratulations to Rafter House on your terrific achievement. Rafter last won the event in 2008. Interestingly Burkett have never won the Secondary X-Country. Hocknull have won it 4 times, Rafter have won it 3 times and Williamson have won it twice. Thank you! More photos here



It's been a fun few days of St Andrew's Rugby. Our Primary Rugby teams had a great evening on Friday 22nd as we hosted Eumundi. Our U13 7's team travelled to Hervey Bay on Saturday 23rd to play in the Fraser Coast Invitational 7's tournament involving 15 schools. The boys were superb and made the Grand Final and finished runners up going down to a very strong St Luke's Anglican College from Bundaberg 24-12 in the Final. Thanks to everyone for their support of St Andrew's Rugby

Year 7/8 Sport - Our Year 7 and 8 students are on fire each Friday afternoon as they particpate in Netball, Rugby, Tennis, Volleyball, Stand Up Paddling, Surfing, Fitness and Football - It is amazing to see the great approach to their sport and the enjoyment they have. Primary Cross Country 2013
A massive congratulations to our Primary students for making the Cross Country 2013 so special. There was a real sense of achievement on so many faces! The standard of running was very high and continues to reach new heights at the College as our terrific culture grows. Thanks to staff and parents for their great support and approach to our fantastic running culture.
Well done to Rafter house who won the carnival with Hocknull in 2nd, Williamson in 3rd and Burkett in 4th. It was a very close carnival. Thank you also to the amazing group of Fit Foodies,

Girls AFL

Way too much fun today at the Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Girls AFL carnival! Congratulations to our two teams - Our Junior Girls who finished 3rd out of 10 teams and our Senior Girls who finished 4th out of 16 teams. The girls were fantastic. More photos are here:



A big congratulations to our Secondary Netball girls and teams who are superb. Watching them, they show the St Andrew's passion and spirit. A big thanks to the coaching staff for their time and energy with the girls.

Football 2013


A BIG Congratulations to our Football teams who have begun their season superbly at Peregian fields. It was been a very successful sport and our teams were terrific. Our Year 9/10 Girls and 11/12 Girls remain undefeeated and our 9/10 Boys and lost just one this season.
The support was absolutely superb and the 'red' spirit on the sideline was outstanding.

Volleyball 2013

Primary swim team finish a fantastic 2nd

A special congratulations to our Primary swim team who finished runners up out of the 10 Independent Schools at the District Carnival in Caboolture on Tuesday. Once again there plenty of superb individual performances and fantastic St Andrew's team spirit shown by the team and the parent supporters. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm and such happy, smiling faces. Thank you to our parents for your flexibility with the last minute change of venue. Thank you also to our wonderful parents who stepped in and helped out with timekeeping – carnivals cannot run without you! More photos are here


Swimming success for so many

The Secondary School swim team were superb against 11 other Independent Schools. The team finished runners up again to Matthew Flinders and just narrowly missed out on winning. For the first time a large school did win the percentage trophy and that was St Andrew's for best performing school based on enrolment numbers

. Congratulations to 5 St Andrew's students - Zoe Dick, Max Osborn, Remy Fairweather, Charlie Thompson and Layton LePetit who were announced as Independent Schools Age Champions. We also won 4 age groups 13 years boys, 14 years Girls, 15 years Boys,16 years Girls and placed either 2nd or 3rd in every other age group.  Incredibly 16 students have been selected to now attend the Regional Carnival in Caboolture next week. Primary Rugby Kicked off on Friday 22nd
and it is fantastic that we have over 100 primary boys playing each week. More information and news is here


Queensland Champion
Congratulations to Emily Lethbridge who is Queensland 12 years Girls Aquathon Champion after winning a superb race at Redcliffe on Sat 16th Feb. Her amazing run and terrifc swimming ability got her across line first against a strong field. Well done also to Gus Luhrs who won a silver in the relay and also Brodie Modini who won a silver. All three St Andrew's students were representing The Sunshine Coast - Congratulations.

Independent District Carnivals are coming up

A massive thanks to all Secondary students for our biggest and most successful Secondary Carnival to date. The levels of participation were staggering and that is largely due to our staff and studnets who passionately promoted the event. We have a very special group of Secondary students this year. A special mention to the Fit Foodies who were incredible. It is so good to have them back on board this year. Lorna Macchia is amazing and has an even bigger group of foodies on board to assist our great healthy culture at the College.

Basketball fired up for Rd 1 and hit the court running. All teams were superb and showed amazing commitemet and passion in the very first week.

3.30 to 4.30  Boys Bash = full on boys workout, using weights boxing and cardio in the Gym.

Sporting achievements in December
The last few weeks has seen plenty going on for many students. There are currently many swimmers at the Queensland long Course Championships in Brisbane. Max Osborn and Jake Packard are State Champions and there are also many personal bests being set. Brodie Modini continues his rise and is the fastest 14 year old in Australia over 1500m. Jordan Csabi finished an incredible 6th in the 100m Australian final. Both were competing for Queensland in Tasmania at the National Championships. Our Cricketers just missed out on wnning the Queensland 20/20 Schools Competeition. The Primary Golf team are PGA Schools Champions after winning the Schools competition at the Australian PGA in Coolum. Blake Heiniger represented QLD in Cricket at U12 Schoolboys where QLD took out the Gold medal. Blake was also part of the QLD U12 Golf team who won the silver medal. Finally, an amazing 15 students have been selected in the Queensland Water Polo squads. Congratulations to all students who never stop giving their best!

Congratulations to everyone involved with the Noosa Triathlon this weekend. Well done to all the competitors who did the 1000m swim on Friday night.  We had over 50 students in the Kids Triathlon on Saturday.
Well done to staff members Mr Bowen, Mr McConnell, Mr Simins and Mrs Powell who did the Triathlon on Sunday. Massive thanks and congratulations to the Heads of House and the many students who managed 2 water stations for over 6000 competitors - a fantastic effort!
