The College is seeking to appoint the following position in 2016.
COMMUNITY CHAPLAIN - Full Time, Permanent Position (teaching qualifications desirable)
ROLE OF THE POSITION:
The Community Chaplain is an ordained Minister in the Anglican Church and is a key figure in making explicit, in conjunction with the Principal and staff, the unique ethos of the College. The Chaplain will provide leadership, encouragement and pastoral care that will help make manifest the College ethos.
- a genuine love for Jesus coupled with a love and respect for God’s word;
- an enthusiasm for sharing God’s love with those in our community;
- a real passion for what you do;
- an ability to work across both Parish and College in a collaborative way;
- flexibility to cope with the uniqueness of a young and vibrant College;
- a sense of humour.
The Chaplain is responsible to the Principal for leading the implementation of practices and relationships that actively promote the Good News of Jesus across the College community. This ministry is undertaken with respect for and support of the unique culture of our College. The role of Chaplain at St Andrew’s Anglican College requires the person to carry out primarily a Pastoral Ministry. This person will work collaboratively with the Anglican Church of Noosa as well as the Christian Ministry Team as they undertake our ministry that focuses on 5 key areas.
- Developing and Teaching a dynamic Christian Education Program.
- Faith Development of staff, students and parents.
- Spiritual care of staff, students and parents.
- Relevant and engaging worship both within and outside the College. This includes the development of a worshipping community from the Anglican Church of Noosa within the College.
- Service Learning.
