POSITION CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

 

 Instrumental Music Teacher – Drum / Percussion specialist


St. Andrew's Anglican College, Peregian Springs – an award winning, leading independent private school near Noosa on the Sunshine Coast – is seeking an Instrumental Music Teacher (Drums / Tuned Percussion specialist) to join the music department, commencing in Term 1 of the 2015 school year (first week of February).

 

The applicant must have a positive, professional attitude towards the musical development of students who vary in age and ability. 

 

The successful applicant will be an integral part of the College’s music program, assisting to develop the percussion area of the department through a specialisation in Drums and Tuned Percussion and also lead an ensemble and teach within our Instrumental Immersion Program. At this stage the position entails teaching around 20 students as well as a percussion ensembles and immersion so teaching would need to be spread over two days (with one day being a Friday).

 

To be eligible for this position, applicants must comply with the following:

  • relevant qualifications and/or experience
  • a current Blue Card
  • professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance
  • ability to teach on Friday essential
  • eligibility to work in Australia

 

The successful applicant would need to have the ability to teach before and after school to accommodate students wishing to have lessons outside of their normal curriculum time. As with any such position, student numbers are subject to specific enrolment requests and student numbers will change dependent upon the successful applicant’s ability to inspire and motivate students to commence / continue with music studies. The students range in ability from Beginner to Grade 8 (AMEB) level. The position will be contracted annually (renewed each school year).
