2015 POSITIONS AVAILABLE


Head of Brass Teaching & Development

St. Andrew's Anglican College, Peregian Springs, an award winning, leading independent private school near Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, is seeking a key specialist to join the music department, commencing in Term 1 of the 2015 school year (last week of January). 

The applicants must have a positive, professional attitude towards the musical development of students who vary in age and ability. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the College’s Music Program, assisting to develop the area of Brass as well as having the ability to implement new programs within this specialisation and also have the potential to work within the College Ensemble Program.

To be eligible to apply for this position, applicants must comply with the following:

  • relevant qualifications and/or experience
  • a current Blue Card
  • professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance
  • eligibility to work in Australia

The successful applicants would need to have the ability to teach before and after school to accommodate ensembles and students wishing to have lessons outside of their normal curriculum time. As with any such position, student numbers are subject to specific enrolment requests and student numbers will change dependent upon the successful applicant’s ability to inspire and motivate students to commence / continue with their music studies.  At this stage, the College is able to offer 10-hours of Specialist Lessons per week as well as 90-minutes of tuition per week within our Instrumental Immersion Program on a Friday. N.B. The ability to teach French Horn, Trombone, Trumpet, Baritone Horn, Euphonium and Tuba is essential to this position.

 

The students range in ability from Beginner to Advanced level. The position will be contracted annually (renewed each school year); however, if the successful applicant is able to demonstrate exemplary levels of teaching, development & recruitment then the College will offer incentives for further development after the initial 12 month contract. These will be discussed through the interview process.
