From the PrincipalWelcome to St. Andrew's Anglican College - As Principal, I welcome you to St. Andrew's Anglican College, an award winning Independent private school achieving excellence on the Sunshine Coast. We have a strong desire to leverage our positive energy and supportive community to enable our students to move confidently into their futures. I am continually humbled by the extraordinary achievements and actions of our community and it is for this reason that we celebrate these on our website, to share with you the 'reality' that is St. Andrew's.
At St. Andrew's we value the unique sense of community that is well known across the Sunshine Coast. What underpins this quality are our staff, students and parents who interact, engage and encourage each other on a daily basis, ensuring that our commitment to encouraging each student to challenge themselves to reach their personal best is not something we simply write about. The aim is to give a glimpse of what is really happening in our dynamic college, knowing there is more truth in what we actually do, than what we say we do! This site enables you to see first hand that the words and phrases we express about ourselves in our promotional material are not just words - they reflect the reality that St Andrew's is a vibrant and engaging learning environment, where children are encouraged to achieve their personal best. Take the time to browse the site and see what St Andrew's students are doing and what they have been doing.
St Andrew's is a dynamic and vibrant school, situated on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Queensland, in Peregian Springs, between Noosa and Coolum and one that is developing a reputation for commitment to the total educational needs of each and every child. With our current enrolment of 1200 students in 2013, the College caters for students from Prep to Year 12. In order to achieve the high aspirations of our Mission Statement, "St Andrew's has a vision of excellence promoted in all aspects of the College life", the College has been fortunate to attract a high calibre of staff who seek each day to provide these unique educational opportunities for the children in their care.
At St Andrew's, the best aspects of a traditional Anglican School education are combined with a vision for what students need today and for their exciting futures. All these considerations produce a learning environment which is distinctively St Andrew's, but with the standards of care, Christian values, academic rigour, focus on independent learning and positive environment exemplified by other leading independent schools across Australia.
Our wish for our departing Collegians is that they will have a passion for learning and will value the virtues of wisdom and integrity. They will be individuals who endeavour to positively transform the communities in which they live and work. In the great and the small things they do, they will enliven and enrich our world.
If you should have any further questions, please do not hesitate in contacting the College Office.
I am thrilled to be able to play my part as Principal, along with a team of excellent staff, in ensuring the realisation of the dreams and aspirations of the whole College community. I encourage you to come and visit our College and begin to experience the St Andrew's difference.
Reverend Chris Ivey
