Independent District Representaion 2013
for students turning 10,11 and 12 in 2013

In 2012 an incredible 140 students from St. Andrew's were selected to represent the independent Schools in various sports. This is the representtative level higher than representing the College. Selected students compete at the Sunshine Coast Regional Carnival against 6 other districts, students are then eligible for selection to attend the State championships, representing the Sunshine Coast region. Selection is available to all 10,11 and 12 year olds in Cross country, Athletics and Swimming. All other sports are generally for students turning 12 in 2013 from Year 6 and 7.  (There are also some 11 year old teams, such as Netball). Students turning 9 in 2013 are not eligible for selection.

In order to represent the district, students are required to attend trials that are outlined below. We will endeavour to get as many students as possible to the selection trials, but numbers are occasionally restricted at trials, in which case, a decision will be made by the Sport department as to who will attend. Please keep checking the newsletters for dates and times of selection trials for SCISSA selection.

Independent District representation U15 and Open (Secondary) in 2013
District representation for Secondary students turning 15 and above.
Students are eligible for selection in an Independent District team at the 15yrs age group an open age group.
All students to wear school sport attire for trials
Training Days:  12^th February 2013 – 4.30pm and any other dates advised by team officials.
Regional Trial:   19th February 2013

Independent District Trial Day 1 on Tuesday 5th February 2013 will take place for the following sports:

• 15 years Boys and Girls Volleyballat Matthew Flinders at 4.30pm
• 19 years Boys and Girls Volleyball at Matthew Flinders at 4.30pm
• 15 years Boys and Girls Touch at Matthew Flinders at 4.30pm
• 18 years Boys and Girls Touch at Matthew Flinders at 4.30pm

The selected teams will compete at the Regional Carnival on Tuesday 19th Feb

Students nominate directly( i.e there is no Independent District team) to attend the Sunshine Coast Regional trial on the 19th February in:
19 years Boys and Girls Tennis
14 years Cricket
19 years Cricket 
19 years Girls Softball

Independent District Trial Day 2 on Tuesday 5th March 2013 will take place for the following sports.

• 15 years girls Netball at Matthew Flinders at 4.30pm
  19 years girls Netballat Matthew Flinders at 4.30pm
• 18 years Rugby Unionat Matthew Flinders at 4.30pm
• 19 years Girls and Boys Football (Soccer)at Nambour Christian College at 4.30pm
• 18 years Boys and Girls Basketball at Sunshine Coast Grammar School at 4.30pm
• 15 years and Open Boys and Girls Surfing - venue to be confirmed

The selected teams will compete at the Sunshine Coast Regional Carnival on Tuesday 19th March 2013

Students nominate directly ( i.e there is no Independent District team) to attend the Sunshine Coast Regional trial on the 19th March in:
19 years Boys and Girls Hockey
15 years AFL

19 years Golf

Independent District Trial Day 3 on Tuesday 21st May 2012 will take place for the following sports.

• 15 years Boys and Girls Basketball
• 15 years Rugby Union
• 15 years Girls and Boys Football (Soccer)

The selected teams will compete

There are a number of trials planned later in 2013 for 2014 selection. These include Water Polo and Triathlon in November. Please see your Sports Head for more information.
