“Act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
St. Andrew’s, at its heart is a Christian school based on biblical foundations. Our understanding and practice of our faith in Jesus Christ is primarily established according to what the Scriptures reveal about God and His love for us all. This is reflected not just in the Chapel Services and the Christian Education classes, but seeks to be reflected in all areas of community life, its ethos, values, and principles which filter down through our curriculum, pastoral care and co-curricular activities. Above all, it is seen in the way that relationships are valued and shared here as a College community.
The aim of the College is that students will grow in preparation for life, fostering strong healthy relationships with others, developing their God given gifts and abilities and learning how to have a clear understanding of who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him as Lord God and Saviour.
The purpose of the Christian Education team is to clearly communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ and promote a deeper understanding of Christian faith and spirituality in the life of the College. We are available to help and serve students during their time at school, as well as when students transition between secondary schooling and tertiary education or the workforce.
We also prepare individuals for Christian adult baptism, Eucharist (communion), confirmation and marriage, according to the rites of the Anglican Church of Australia. We will direct you where possible to your local Parish Centre to connect with the faith community in your area where this is helpful.
Chapel services for Prep to Year 12 occur on a weekly cycle. For more information about Chapel services follow the link to the 'Christian Education and Chapel Overview' below.
All parents, students and staff are warmly invited to take part in the various services that are arranged during the course of the academic year including ANZAC Day, Easter Service, Leadership Induction, Remembrance Day, Year 12 Honouring Chapel and Christmas Services.
