ABOUT THE TALK
Led by Mrs Jill Green, this interactive talk on Managing and Harnessing Perfectionism will explore the avenues by which we, as parents, can help foster ‘positive perfectionism’ so students can harness its power rather than succumb to its pressure. Jill will also examine how parents can help children seize ‘opportunities of failure’, so that they push on and think like Thomas Edison, who once said, “I have not failed, I’ve just found 10 000 ways that won’t work” (BrainyQuote, 2014). This will be a great opportunity for parents to ask questions about perfectionism and share their parenting experiences. Jill has an M.Ed. in Gifted and Talented Education and is Head of Thinking Skills at St Andrew's as well as the Primary Extension and Enrichment Coordinator.
